Present Continous

Rule ( szabály): Present Simple of the verb TO BE+ ING-form of the 2nd verb

Example: I am going. You are going. He ( she, it) is going.

                We are going. You are going. They are going.

Past Continous

Rule ( szabály ): Past Simple form of the werb TO BE+ ING-form of the 2nd verb

Example: I was reading. You were reading. He ( she, it ) was reading.

                We were reading. You were reading. They were reading.

Present Perfect

Rule: Have+Past Participle of the verb

E.g.: I have read a good book today. ( Ma olvastam egy jó könyvet.)

        I have had it. ( Elegem van.)

The most important temporal adverbs used with the Present Perfect are FOR & SINCE.

E.g. I have been here for ages. ( Már egy jó ideje itt vagyok) 

       I have been here since 1996. ( 1996 óta vagyok itt)

Explanation: The sentence with the temporal adverb FOR does not concretely 

                      specify the exact time of the action of the verb in question.  

                      The sentence with the temporal adverb SINCE specifies the exact

                      time of the action.   

Present Perfect Continous

Rule: Present Tense of HAVE+ Past Participle of BE+ ING form of the 3rd verb 

Example : Tom has been going to the same school since 1990.
